The band's self-titled first album Proverbial Cool Aid was recorded in Studio A at Houston's Sugarhill Recording Studios between 2005 and 2009 and released briefly on ITunes in 2010. It was re-released again in 2022 after the band reemerged from a 12 year hiatus to record the first single off this new effort West LA. 2023 marks the completion of a year of recording by band leader and PCA founder Damen Martin with producer Josh Applebee at Wire Road Studios in Houston.
The band's first year back was an impressive one with openings for Paul Wall and Great White at the famed Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood. Their credits also include The Viper Room, Houston's Warehouse Live and The House of Blues. Proverbial Cool Aid plays regularly around their hometown of Houston with their next scheduled show to be at The House of Blues on Oct. 13th. The band will cap off 2023 with a 21 city, 14 state, month-long Eastern US tour beginning in late October. Proverbial Cool Aid 2023 is available now on all streaming platforms and soon to be released on vinyl.
